Craig Matthew serves as one of the co-hosts of The Venus Vault radio show, offering a male’s point of view as part of the program’s “Man Panel." He began his career as a touring professional golfer where he competed in several PGA Tour events and became a champion on the PGA Tour-Canada. While competing at the collegiate level he became the first golfer in the history of the Ohio State University to be named Academic All American as well as Athletic All American in consecutive years. Since retiring from his career as a touring golfer, Craig founded Altitude Coffee Lab in Scottsdale, Arizona, which was named “Best Coffee Shop” by Phoenix New Times in 2014.
In addition to his time spent in the coffee industry, Craig is a signed model with Ford Models in Arizona (Ford RBA) and also is currently recording his first album with renowned Los Angeles-based audio company Aftermaster Audio Labs. Having been exposed to such a wide variety of situations, Craig presents a unique male perspective colored by everything from professional sports to the Hollywood music scene.
John Abrahamsen was raised slowly in suburban New York. He spent his formative years listening to crackly AM pop stations on cheap portable transistor radios. This unproductive behavior led him down an unlikely career path. Once, a very long time ago, he heard the perfect radio show, at once obscure and familiar, and he's been trying to recreate it ever since. He may have dreamt it; he's not sure. His quest sent him pinballing from one commercial station to another, his dream show bursting onto the airwaves briefly and then disappearing.
He makes his living as a writer now, and is free to take his noncommercial vision to noncommercial radio. He feels very lucky to have found a home at Radio Phoenix. So far, so good... he hasn't played Maroon 5 in nearly two years.
Kaja Brown, Radio Phoenix’s program director from 2008-2016, was the station’s founding general manager. During the past 20 years, he has worked within a diversity of media organizations across the United States, including college radio and newspapers, community radio, commercial radio, and public television. He currently anchors “The Bungalow Show," the station’s weekly arts and culture program, as well as “HipRawk Nation," a weekly music specialty show spotlighting an eclectic playlist of Alternative, Electronic, Dance, Rap, R&B and Neo Soul artists from around the world.
Prior to the launch of Radio Phoenix, Kaja served as a founding Board member of the Arizona Community Media Foundation (AzCMF), a 501(c)(3) educational media organization. Before his time with AzCMF, he worked in various production, on-air, support, and leadership roles at KAET-TV in Phoenix, KFNX and KXEG radio in Phoenix, KBZY radio in Salem, Oregon, KBPS/KPSU radio in Portland, Oregon, and WAWZ radio in the New York City area.
A New Jersey native, Kaja is a graduate of Arizona State University.
